School Bullying Lawsuit In Florida

In Palm Beach County, Florida, a lawsuit has been filed against the school district alleging the district's failure to control bullying.  This article provides a recap of the situation at Jeaga Middle School in West Palm Beach.  If your child was bullied and you are not satisfied with the response of the school district to the problem it may be useful to consult an attorney to determine your rights.

The problem is apparently getting worse based on the newspaper's quotes from anonymous teachers:

"The students are out of control," said one. "It's horrendous. The administration blames the teachers and say it's lack of classroom control, but you can only control so much."
Another said she witnesses fights almost daily.
"The decline in student behavior is epidemic in public schools," the teacher said.
Bullying lawsuits are becoming increasingly common, because when your kids go off to school, the environment should be safe.
